Shoot An Awesome Timelapse With Your Nikon D5200
Learn to shoot a timelapse with the Nikon D5200 and an 18-55 mm lens. It's so easy and you will be impressed by the results. If you have another model or brand of camera, you can do this too, simply look for Interval Timer Shooting in your camera's menu.
You can use any lens you like to shoot a timelapse, as long as it is suitable for landscape photography. I use an 18-55 mm in the video because that is a common kit lens that many people have.
Before you purchase a variable ND filter, check the thread diameter on the front of your lens. A number will be printed on the front of the lens somewhere around the edge with this symbol next to it Ø. If you're using an AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, the diameter will most likely be 52 mm. *You must buy an ND filter that matches the diameter of your lens.*

I bought I new sd card for my camera and still says memory card error I don’t know what to do
@@mariajoseleal9883 did you check the camera manual for compatible sd cards before purchasing?
@@photographersfreedom my uncle give me this camera like 3 years ago and just now I wanna start using it so there is not manual or anything

I think I only have option 6 I only brought it today as well never use Samsung SD cards people
none of these worked, but i can still access the card on my laptop so i guess the card is not the problem?
Thank you for your video! Formatting the sd card worked for me
thank you the exfat format saved my sd card!
thankyou

If you are going to purchase a variable ND filter for your lens, make sure you get the correct diameter. The diameter of the lens thread is printed on the front of the lens with this symbol next to it Ø.
<<none worked>>
It might be time for a new SD card then. 🙂
Bro…
What? 🤔
Hi there, I've an issue with my sd card. It says "the card is set to lock" but it's not!! I've tried all these options shown here but nothing happens. My card is absolutely fine and it works perfectly with my PC. The camera card slot is also fine I've checked with another sd card. What to do in this case?
Try the extra fixes in this video ua-cam.com/video/KncuKVtwU34/v-deo.html. Let me know if any of them fix the issue. 🙂
@@photographersfreedom It helped!! Thanks a lot 😊
@@magicalkeys great. 😀
Hi Barry, I'm still shooting with a DSLR, and yes, SLR. My Canon A-1 which I bought in 1980 still works. July 2013, I bought one of my "bucket list" cameras, a used Canon New F-1. July 2013, I mentioned to my wife that KEH had an F-1 with the AE Motor Drive FN, and AE Finder FN for $400 (USD). She asked, "Is that their flagship?" I answered, "Yes, for the 80's." She said, "Buy it." She bought me a 5D III for Christmas 2013. It doesn’t matter if I shoot film or digital; I enjoy photography.
Very helpful video and seems honest. Thank you!
Thanks. 🙂
What is the best lens for this camera to photograph beginners?
That is too hard a question to answer here in the comments section. Different lenses are good for different types of photography. What sort of photography do you do? Portraits? Landscapes?... I am working on a video about how to choose the right lenses for the D5200. It's a huge subject, and I'm trying to incorporate as much information as possible. Look for it on the channel in the next few months. 🙂
Good to know this camera is still relevant. Got it recently from my wife, since she‘s got a new one. Was a bit worried that d5200 might be a bit old even for a complete beginner (which I am) but seems like it is a decent camera
It's a great camera. It will take you well beyond beginner. Enjoy. 🙂
sometime it just some dust in the sd card slot may cause lock or unreadable, remove-install sd card multiple time to clean the contact may fix. or just camera blower. i fix my canon g12 not reading sd card (it's alway in lock mode) just simple like that
Yeah, all this information is in the video. 🙂
my solution was to reset the camera. the error: CARD FULL came from a camera
Thanks for sharing that solution. 🙂
Thank you! My brother passed away a couple of years and he has this camera. I want to keep it as a reminder of him and learn to use it myself. This video is my first venture into learning about his camera! I've subscribed to your channel to help me on this adventure :0)
Thank you for watching and subscribing. I am sorry for your loss.
What if it is the camera and not the card
Then you need to get your camera repaired or buy a new camera. 🙂
@@photographersfreedom Its an expensive Canon that is out of production.
I accidentally pulled out an sd card out of my MacBook without ejecting it first, and damaged my sd card, is there a chance I also damaged my MacBook, or just the sd card please help I’m so worried.
Try another SD card. That's the only way to know if the slot is damaged.
Very cool
#4 fixed it, thanks!
Helpful video Barry, nicely edited and presented!!!
Thank you. 🙂
i have tried so menu things butt it keeps telling me cannot format change card every time i try to format it. i have bought like 3-4 different cards and it says the same thing for all of them. 😢😅 what do i do?
You might want to get the camera looked at. If you've tried multiple SD cards and none of them work, then the camera is obviously the problem.
it's very good thing I like your video save my life😁😁😁😁😁
Your amazing
Thank you so much. 🙂
This video is very useful. I can fix my camera and make it work again 👍🏻😭
Thanks. I'm glad you found it useful. 🙂
Thankyou, this is SO to the point and informative. Great video
Thank you so much. 🙂
my camera won’t even let me attempt to format the card in the camera. when the error comes up it doesn’t let me do anything till I take it out. I just came from your old video and tried reformatting it on my computer and that didn’t work.
Can you try another sd card in the camera? That will tell you if the camera is the issue or not.
@@photographersfreedom yeah i’ve tried and bought several. I think it is the camera, but idk how I would fix that.
Find a local camera repair shop. Did you clean the terminals on the sd card (using a dry microfibre cloth) and blow out the sd card slot? Make sure you cover all the bases before sending your camera in for repair or buying a new one.
Sorry All of these solutions didn't work with me ,but only one after 2 days from search but you don't referring it ,I found it in a Canon catalog, it's remove the lens and clean the golden metal on it with dry clean tissue kindly ,I do it 😉 it's perfect, thank you,I hope this works with some people ❤❤
You’re really a savior,I just cleaned as you said and it worked out thanks.
Thanks Dude. Step 4 helped me out

At my micro sd in some folder cant read anything and another can read every5hing How to recovery not reading data? I using Ipad
I'm not aware of any data recovery apps for iPad. You need a PC or Mac for that job.
Checking the card for errors and allowing Windows to repair resulted in loss of all files.
That shouldn't happen. Did you get a prompt warning about the loss of files before the error fixing?
Nope
Thank you! This is such a helpful video
AF not great ?! Try a Z8 or Z9 my friend. 😉
Not everyone can afford the upgrade, my friend. This video is for those people.
@@photographersfreedom Ok, so it's not AF Nikon but this device. It' s not clear for me.
@@mukanshin9424 it says DSLR in the title. The Z8 and Z9 are mirrorless cameras, not DSLRs. 🙂
Thanks so much! Formatting on my computer is what worked for me!!!
THANK YOU
Do you use back button focus ?? 🙄
Yes. I have used back button focus for years. Once I changed, I never went back.
Thanks for this! Great video with lots of helpful information! Trying to decide whether to stick with my old beginner DSLR (Nikon D60), buy a newer used/refurbished DSLR, or look into the world of mirrorless as I dive back into the world of photography! This time, learning how to come off “auto mode” (woohoo!!) and into the minor leagues, with the hope to one day be able to make a profit with this passion of mine!
Fantastic @danil9574. Thanks for watching. All the best with your camera decision and your journey from beginner to business. 😃
Thank you, sir! I had a problem with a mini SD. An error message popped up on my car dash cam saying that the memory was full. This was a surprise because the dash cam erases the old data for the new. When I checked the SD on my laptop, I noticed that the name of the card changed to weird symbols, and I couldn't access the recorded videos on it. Eventually, the simplest formatting helped! Interesting fact: the system wouldn't let me format it because of the strange symbols, so I changed the name of the card to something simple.
Fix# 11 worked for me 👍👍👍
What if is a new SD card and it's reading full?
You've checked the lock switch on the side of the sd card?
Some how it's in ctg storage
I bought a brand new 128G micro SD card. I put it in my akaso brave 6+ camera. When I click to start taking a video, the message comes up CARD SPEED SLOW this is a new camera I have been using successfully using sandisk sd cards of 64G my camera is supposed to be able to use a 128G SD card. I have removed and replaced the fully charged battery several times, I tried reformatting the card in the camera several times, removing the SD card and re-installing it several times. i’ve tried other cards and they work.. this is a brand of card I never tried before, KRECOO I don’t have another camera capable of using a card of 128G to test the card elsewhere what does that message card to slow mean.???
You need to check the speed class of your SD card. There will be a number inside of a C printed on the front of the card. If this is not a 10, then the card is likely too slow to record video with, especially if you're shooting 4K. There are other numbers on the front of the card that matter also.
